Plant pollen


Researches have shown that pollen has all the indispensable to a human organism aminoacids in its chemical structure. It is compared to wheat flour in its calorie and nutrient content. Pollen is a valuable medicinal and prophylactic remedy for curing many diseases, and it is also biological stimulators, having a healthful effect on the whole organism.

It has 28 chemical elements: calcium, phosphor, magnesium, zinc, chromium, iodine and others. There is especially a lot of potassium, copper, cobalt and iron, the contents of provitamin A 20 times surpass that in carrots. It also contains vitamins E, C, D, P, PP, K and vitamins of the B group, phytohormones, stimulating tissue development, antibacterial substances, and compounds, having antisclerotic, anti-inflammatory, capillary-strengthening, antioxidant, diuretic, antitumour, bile-expelling, and other useful effects, necessary for supporting health. A number of ferments, that are important for metabolism and other chemical processes in a human organism, were found in pollen, at last there are phytocide, with the help of which plants protect against plenty of bacteria, fungi, and viruses.

Pollen of plants varies in its composition that makes its medicinal and prophylactic properties different. So thyme pollen has a tonic and antiseptic quality; sage pollen has a diuretic effect and regulates digestive system functions; sunflower pollen stimulates urination and has a slight laxative effect.

There are more than 50 biologically active substances and 240 substances, indispensable for biochemical processes that take place in the human organism. All these facts prove its therapeutic effect, which is greater than that of herbal infusions and decoctions. Pollen is widely used for toning up and recovering in the case of physical or mental overfatigue. It is recommended to take 1/3 to a spoonful of pollen two –three times a day. Those who are predisposed to illnesses should take 1/2– 2/3 two-three times a day during three-four weeks. The doze for children is 1/4 -1/3 of teaspoonfuls.

Pollen tones up, makes feel in good mood, improves adaptation to changes in weather conditions, normalises organism functions if one suffers from overstrain or exhaustion, strengthens an organism before surgery and helps to recover after it. ˝ spoonful of it is taken 2-3 times a day during 3-6 weeks. One can also take it with honey (1:1) a teaspoonful a day ( if the proportion is 1:2 then a dessert-spoonful) 2-3 times a day.

Disease –weakened patients are recommended to take 2 monthly courses of pollen therapy with a ten-day break. Pollen stimulates protective mechanisms to work and wound healing, improves physical condition, treats insomnia, increases appetite, and helps to gain weight.

It's a wonderful hemopoiesis stimulator, as there is iron, copper and manganese in pollen.

People who suffer from allergy fear to take pollen. It is noteworthy that allergy is usually caused by pollen scattered by the wind and irritating respiratory tract and mucous membrane. Pollen collected by bees when used internally never causes allergy, as bees treat it with salivary gland secretion and destroy all the allergens.

Pollen is also very effective as antisclerotic remedy. It normalises lipid blood composition and is unique in its function. Thus it is recommended to elderly people.

Pollen gives good results in treating the initial stages of hypertension. Average pollen doze is ˝ teaspoonful 3 times a day, and in combination with honey (1:1)-a teaspoonful 3 times a day. The course of treatment is 3 weeks. After 2-3 weeks break it can be repeated. For people suffering from hypertension pollen taken on an empty stomach is more effective than that taken after meals.

Pollen taken after meals stabilises blood pressure, lowers it in the case of hypertension and heightens it in the case of hypotension. As the practice of using apiproducts shows that pollen is one of the best remedies for curing hypotension conditions.

Pollen with honey has a healthful effect in the case of ischemia, myocardial disease, myocardial dystonias, heart troubles and rheumatism, improve heart's ability to contract, normalises myocardium function and cardiac rhythm, heightens capacity to work. Pollen helps to cure cardioneurosis, depressions, neurasthenia, and hysteria. Especially in complex with drugs, as pollen completing drug effect, it removes side effects.

Pollen is also a valuable remedy for curing alcoholism. Its usage helps to do without antidepressants or at least to lower their dosage.

Pollen in combination with some drugs helps to recover after nervous exhaustion, asthenia conditions and visceral vascular dystonia. Pollen taken during a week makes feel better and tones up.

Pollen is especially effective in curing alimentary system disorders. Pollen and pollen fermented by bees' salivary gland secretion cures stomach and duodenal ulcer. The dose is a teaspoonful three times a day. Pollen with honey (1:1) is more effective. (a dessert spoonful three times a day)

Depending on the stomach acidity: if it is decreases then dissolve pollen and honey in cool water and take it before meals, if it is increased – dissolve pollen and honey in warm water and take 1,5-2 hours before meals. Honey and pollen, natural therapeutic products of high quality, don't have any side effects.

Pollen with honey is also successful in curing liver diseases. Improvements are visible within 3-4 weeks. The course usually lasts 3-4 months. After 4-5 weeks there should be a break for 2-3 weeks. Pollen with honey is recommended for hepatitis of various origins and for cholecystitis, and also for preparation for the surgery on liver and gall bladder, as a result aches in the right subcostal area abate and soon disappear. Treatment of gastrointestinal tract is as follows: 180 gram of honey are dissolved in 800 ml of boiled water at room temperature, 50 gram of pollen fermented by bees' salivary glands secretion is added. Then let the mixture begin to ferment at room temperature. ˝-2/3 of the glass of the mixture is taken 15-20 minutes before meals during four-six weeks.

Both doctors and patients know that lung diseases are hard to cure especially if they are chronic or neglected. Adding pollen to drug treatment helps to improve blood structure and decrease in lung inflammation processes. Pollen with honey in proportion 1:1, or 1:2 should a table spoonful three times a day 20-30 minutes before meals during a month and half or two months.

Contra-indications. Before using beekeeping products in general and pollen in particular it is necessary to make sure that there is no allergic reaction to it. The first weeks of taking beekeeping products should be under medical observation. It is not recommended to take honey with pollen if one suffers from diabetes. Although pollen is a very valuable product it should be taken within reasonable limits. Excessive dose of pollen containing vitamin A can not only harm liver but cause changes in coagulability of blood and susceptibility to hemorrhage and bleeding (especially internal). Pollen should not be taken after 7 p.m. as it is a stimulant and can lead to sleep disorders.
